Alessi is the brand name of the company Alessi Fratelli Omegna (FAO), founded in 1921 by Giovanni Alessi1.
It is presented at trade shows of the 1920s as a foundry specialized in working with copper and nickel, characterized by its innovative experiments. The company focuses in 1929 on the production of table objects for the home, nickel plated copper or silver. Carlo Alessi's son, Giovanni, in 1935 was appointed creative director, and in subsequent years, the manufacturing methods are giving way to craft manufacturing. In 1945, Carlo Alessi creates the service coffee and tea Domed and is joined by his younger brother Ettore. In 1955, Alessi began collaborating with architects and designers.
The company is now led by Alberto Allessi who continues to work with designers and leading architects. Since 2006, Alessi markets three product lines: A di Alessi (products most accessible), Alessi (main series) and Officina Alessi (experimental products and small series).
